WordPress Galleries

Was looking for a gallery that has the following minimum facilities :

  • Bulk image upload.
  • Facility for Album Creation.
  • Auto thumbnail generation.
  • Very easy to integrate.
  • And Plug-and-Play in true sense – install the plugin, create albums, load pictures and the gallery should be there available in the frontend. No tweaking here and there.
  • The albums/galleries will automatically get updated in the frontend gallery page, need not write tags/codes in the pages.

Tested quite a few WordPress Galleries. Out of them only three has been selected finally. You can take a look at the galleries created using them, by clicking the pages in their name on the sidebar.

The winner till now is WPShowroom. It is the one that meets all the above mentioned criteria.

NextGen Gallery is also very good but you still need to add tags, to the page in which you want to display the gallery. One thing it has is the lightbox style, which WPShowroom lacks.

FlippingBook‘s main appeal is the flipping style. But it is a little cryptic ( you need to create an album and also a book to display an album ). It also requires tags in pages to work.

Don’t know why I couldn’t install Coppermine ( it didn’t even showed up in the list of  plugins ).

More results are  coming  soon…
